The Vegas Golden Knights (1-1-0) travel to Vancouver to face the Canucks (2-1-0) on Sunday at 6 p.m. PT at Rogers Arena for their first road game of the 2026-27 season.

The matchup comes two days after Vegas suffered a 4-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Friday at T-Mobile Arena. The Golden Knights trailed 4-0 heading into the third period before mounting a comeback led by Shea Theodore, Tomas Hertl on the power play, and Braeden Bowman with 2:50 remaining. Despite the late surge, the Ducks held on for their first win of the season.

Head Coach Ryan Craig has emphasized the importance of avoiding slow starts moving forward. According to the team's notes, if Vegas finds itself trailing again, utilizing reset shifts, playing below the goal line, and regaining control will be key factors.

Jack Eichel has been a standout performer early this season, posting five points (1G, 4A) in five games and currently tied for third in NHL points. His four assists are tied for third in the league. Eichel joins Mark Stone as the only Golden Knights player to start a season with back-to-back multi-assist games.

Other Golden Knights in form include Brayden McNabb, Shea Theodore, and Victor Olofsson, each on two-game point streaks. Theodore has three points (1G, 2A), McNabb has three points (3A), and Olofsson has two points (1G, 1A).

Vegas holds a strong historical record against Vancouver, going 8-2-0 in its last 10 meetings. During the 2025-26 season, the Golden Knights posted a 3-0-0 record against the Canucks, including a 2-1 victory at Rogers Arena in early April.

The Canucks enter Sunday's game with a 2-1-0 record. They defeated the Calgary Flames 4-1 on Saturday with goals from Liam Ohgren, Elias Pettersson, Drew O'Connor, and Aatu Raty. Goaltender Leevi Meriläinen earned his first NHL win in that game.

Vancouver made offseason moves to bolster its roster, signing veteran defensemen Luke Schenn and Jamie Oleksiak on July 1 and acquiring Brendan Gallagher from Montreal. The team also hired Manny Malhotra as head coach on June 1. Malhotra previously coached the Abbotsford Canucks, the AHL affiliate, and won a Calder Cup championship in his final season there.

The game will be broadcast on Scripps Sports (The Spot-Vegas 34 in Vegas; full network), streamed on KnightTime+, and aired on radio at X 107.9 and 105.7 Maxima.

A Golden Knights victory would mark the 403rd win in franchise history and give Vegas a 22-4-3 all-time record against Vancouver, as well as a 12-1-2 record against the Canucks at Rogers Arena.
