The Vegas Golden Knights announced plans today to celebrate Welcome to Impossible Knight presented by Circa Sports on Saturday, Oct. 10, when the club hosts the Los Angeles Kings at T-Mobile Arena at 7 p.m. PT.
The game marks the anniversary of the franchise's first home game, played Oct. 10, 2017, and is the first of five Anniversary Knights events scheduled for Season X. Welcome to Impossible Knight will be the final time the Golden Knights wear the inaugural gray jerseys before they are retired from rotation.
The celebration kicks off Friday, Oct. 9 with an open practice at City National Arena at 11:30 a.m. PT, where members of the 2017-18 team will meet fans and sign autographs.
On game day, the Golden Knights will host Fan Fest, presented by Raising Cane's, from 4 to 6 p.m. PT at Paramount+ Plaza. The free, public event will feature appearances by original team members Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, Oscar Dansk, Cody Eakin, Deryk Engelland, Brad Hunt, James Neal, Ryan Reaves, and inaugural head coach Gerard Gallant.
"The journey from the 2017 Expansion Draft to the doorstep of a Stanley Cup" will be the focus of panel discussions, according to the team. Attendees can obtain autographs from former players and have a chance to receive jerseys. Historical artifacts from the inaugural season will be on display.
Fans in attendance at Fan Fest will have an opportunity to enter a drawing for tickets to Welcome to Impossible Knight. The first 10,000 fans at the game will receive a commemorative puck, mirroring the giveaway from the franchise's first home game in 2017.
The Golden Knights described the 2017-18 season as a time when the team "defied the odds and became the most successful expansion team in professional sports history." The game will include pregame and in-game experiences celebrating the inaugural season.
A limited number of tickets to Welcome to Impossible Knight are available for purchase through the Golden Knights website. The next Anniversary Knight event, Vegas Born Knight, will celebrate seasons II through V on Wednesday, Dec. 16 against the San Jose Sharks.
